When you choose a clinic for medical aesthetic medicine<\/strong> Before visiting a clinic, it is very important to first do thorough research. So what should you look for when choosing a clinic? Which doctors work there? How do you know if a doctor is not only licensed but also competent? And why do clinics charge different prices for the same treatments? These are all logical questions that might come to mind, and rightly so. In this blog, I share a number of tips and points to consider so that you know what to look out for.<\/p>\n

First of all, perhaps the most important tip: always check whether the doctor you have an appointment with is actually a doctor or medical specialist. It sounds like a no-brainer, but even in the Netherlands, it still happens that people without a medical background\u2014who are neither authorized nor competent\u2014perform medical aesthetic treatments. How do you check this? Very simply via the BIG register (www.bigregister.nl<\/a>). In the Netherlands, the title 'arts' (physician) is protected and is only awarded to people who have completed medical school at a university.<\/p>\n

Professional medical aesthetic clinics offering treatments such as botulinum toxin, fillers, and skin therapy are transparent about their methods and team. You will usually find extensive information about the doctors and specialists on their website. There are no secrets: it is important that you know exactly who is treating you. Therefore, always take the time to review the team page and read up on them thoroughly.<\/p>\n

In addition, it is highly recommended to schedule a consultation before any (major) treatment. These consultations are often without obligation. During such a meeting, you can meet the doctor, discuss your wishes, and gauge whether there is a good connection. Trust and communication are essential for a good result.<\/p>\n

Why is a lip filler treatment cheaper at one clinic than at another? There are several reasons for this. Not every filler is the same: there are various brands on the pharmaceutical market, each with its own quality and price. High-quality products are simply more expensive than lower-quality alternatives. Therefore, be wary when treatments are offered at remarkably low prices. Always ask which brand of filler is being used and inquire about the quality. Don't be afraid to be critical.<\/p>\n

Finally, it is important to realize that treatment by a doctor with years of experience often comes with a different price tag than by a less experienced doctor. Doctors continuously invest in education, training, and continuing professional development, including the doctors at Xavier Clinics.
