Lip Flip

Do you want fuller lips without fillers? Lip Flip with botulinum toxin is a subtle and elegant treatment in which the upper lip tilts slightly outwards, making the lip appear fuller. Xavier Clinics in Amsterdam This treatment is performed exclusively by an experienced cosmetic doctor, with an eye for natural results and facial balance.

What is a Lip Flip?

A Lip Flip is a cosmetic treatment in which a small amount botulinum toxin is injected into the muscle around the upper lip (musculus orbicularis oris). This relaxes the muscle, causing the upper lip to roll outwards slightly. This creates a natural-looking volume effect, without the lip actually being filled as with fillers.

Who is a Lip Flip suitable for?

The Lip Flip is ideal for:

  • People who want to make their upper lip appear fuller
  • People who do not want fillers in the lips
  • Patients whose upper lip curls inward when smiling
  • For those who want a subtle, refined improvement without visible intervention

This treatment is particularly suitable for clients who like a natural look.

The result of a Lip Flip

The effect of a Lip Flip with botulinum toxin becomes visible after approximately 3 to 7 days, with optimal results after two weeks. The lip appears subtly fuller, the cupid's bow is more defined, and the upper lip rolls inward less when smiling. The result lasts on average 3 up to 4 months On.

Lip Flip vs. lip filler

A Lip Flip:

  • Gives no extra volume, but an optical effect
  • Is more subtle than lip fillers
  • Suitable as a first lip treatment

Are you unsure whether to choose a Lip Flip or lip fillers? During a personal consultation at Xavier Clinics, we'll provide you with honest and medically sound advice about the best option for your face.

Consultation with the doctor

Before all treatments, a consultation is scheduled. During this consultation, the doctor will listen to your wishes and explore the options available to achieve them. The doctor will thoroughly inform you about the pre- and aftercare, the expected results, any risks, and the recovery process for the chosen treatment.

The treatment

Once you've chosen to undergo treatment with us, we'll ask you to complete a medical questionnaire and sign a treatment agreement beforehand. If you take a lot of medication, please bring your medication list to your appointment.

Photos will be taken of you both before and after the treatment for your medical records. In some cases, the skin is locally anesthetized with a numbing cream or anesthetic solution before the treatment.

Aftercare

After the treatment, you will receive an aftercare form by email. You do not need to stay at the clinic and can go home immediately. It is common for the skin to be red and swollen after the treatment, and sometimes some bruising may occur. These side effects will disappear on their own. It is important that you cool the treated area well with the cool pack you received, if advised. If you experience severe bruising, we recommend applying Arnica cream to the treated area.

It is recommended that you avoid applying makeup to the treated areas for the first four hours after treatment. Exposure to intense heat (sun, sauna, or tanning bed) is also discouraged for one week after treatment. We advise against having a facial for two weeks after treatment. You can assess the final result after two weeks.

If you have any questions about your recovery, please feel free to contact us.

Risks

The risk of complications is very small. As with any procedure, there is a small risk of infection or allergy.
