Marionette lines

Marionette lines are vertical wrinkles that run downward from the corners of the mouth toward the jawline. They often give the face a somber, tired, or stern appearance, even when you feel fit and energetic. Xavier Clinics in Amsterdam We specialize in the safe and natural treatment of marionette lines, while preserving your own facial expression.

What are puppet lines?

Marionette lines are caused by a combination of skin aging, loss of volume, and repetitive facial movements. As we age, collagen and elastin production decreases, and the skin loses its firmness. This causes the corners of the mouth to droop slightly, resulting in visible lines between the mouth and chin.

Filling marionette lines with fillers

The most effective treatment for marionette lines is the use of hyaluronic acid fillers. These fillers restore lost volume, support the skin from within, and subtly soften lines. At Xavier Clinics, we work exclusively with high-quality, safe fillers that ensure a natural, fresh result.

Depending on your facial structure, the treatment can be combined with support for surrounding areas, such as the jawline or cheeks, for an optimal and balanced effect.

Natural results through medical expertise

At Xavier Clinics you will be treated by a cosmetic doctor With an eye for detail and harmony. We don't believe in overtreatment, but in refinement. Before the treatment, we carefully analyze your face and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and appearance.

Is marionette line treatment painful?

The treatment is generally well-tolerated. If desired, we use a numbing cream to enhance comfort. Most clients experience only a slight tingling sensation. The treatment lasts an average of 20 to 30 minutes.

Result and durability

The results of a marionette line filler treatment are immediately visible and often improve slightly in the days that follow. Depending on the product used and your metabolism, the results last on average 9 to 12 monthsvisible.

Consultation with the doctor

Before all treatments, a consultation is scheduled. During this consultation, the doctor will listen to your wishes and explore the options available to achieve them. The doctor will thoroughly inform you about the pre- and aftercare, the expected results, any risks, and the recovery process for the chosen treatment.

The treatment

Once you've chosen to undergo treatment with us, we'll ask you to complete a medical questionnaire and sign a treatment agreement beforehand. If you take a lot of medication, please bring your medication list to your appointment.

Photos will be taken of you both before and after the treatment for your medical records. In some cases, the skin is locally anesthetized with a numbing cream or anesthetic solution before the treatment.

Aftercare

After the treatment, you will receive an aftercare form by email. You do not need to stay at the clinic and can go home immediately. It is common for the skin to be red and swollen after the treatment, and sometimes some bruising may occur. These side effects will disappear on their own. It is important that you cool the treated area well with the cool pack you received, if advised. If you experience severe bruising, we recommend applying Arnica cream to the treated area.

It is recommended that you avoid applying makeup to the treated areas for the first four hours after treatment. Exposure to intense heat (sun, sauna, or tanning bed) is also discouraged for one week after treatment. We advise against having a facial for two weeks after treatment. You can assess the final result after two weeks.

If you have any questions about your recovery, please feel free to contact us.

Risks

The risk of complications is very small. As with any procedure, there is a small risk of infection or allergy.
