Chin correction

A receding or flattened chin can weaken a profile. This is a congenital defect that can be improved not only with surgery but even more easily with fillers. By injecting fillers into the chin, the chin is projected more forward, giving it a stronger profile. The chin is also part of the jawline and it will automatically tighten when the chin is treated.

Besides this indication, the chin can also be pointed to create a sexy feminine V-shape, or a small indentation in the chin can be filled with fillers. The results of this treatment are immediately visible and can be enjoyed for up to 12 months. After this, the procedure should be repeated to maintain the result.

Consultation with the doctor

Before all treatments, a consultation is scheduled. During this consultation, the doctor will listen to your wishes and explore the options available to achieve them. The doctor will thoroughly inform you about the pre- and aftercare, the expected results, any risks, and the recovery process for the chosen treatment.

The treatment

Once you've chosen to undergo treatment with us, we'll ask you to complete a medical questionnaire and sign a treatment agreement beforehand. If you take a lot of medication, please bring your medication list to your appointment.

Photos will be taken of you both before and after the treatment for your medical records. In some cases, the skin is locally anesthetized with a numbing cream or anesthetic solution before the treatment.

Aftercare

After the treatment, you will receive an aftercare form by email. You do not need to stay at the clinic and can go home immediately. It is common for the skin to be red and swollen after the treatment, and sometimes some bruising may occur. These side effects will disappear on their own. It is important that you cool the treated area well with the cool pack you received, if advised. If you experience severe bruising, we recommend applying Arnica cream to the treated area.

It is recommended that you avoid applying makeup to the treated areas for the first four hours after treatment. Exposure to intense heat (sun, sauna, or tanning bed) is also discouraged for one week after treatment. We advise against having a facial for two weeks after treatment. You can assess the final result after two weeks.

If you have any questions about your recovery, please feel free to contact us.

Risks

The risk of complications is very small. As with any procedure, there is a small risk of infection or allergy.

Chin correction with fillers

Are you bothered by your chin, for example because the shape or position doesn't suit your face? You may have even considered surgery to address this. But know that this problem can also be solved without intensive procedures. At Xavier Clinics, you can go for a chin correction using fillers. This relatively simple procedure can work wonders and enhance the profile of your face.

What are chin fillers?

Chin fillers are a non-invasive way to correct the shape, position, or size of a chin. Chin fillers contain a substance called hyaluronic acid, Hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in our bodies, helps skin stay hydrated, resulting in a healthier and younger appearance. Thanks to its volume-restoring properties, it also provides subcutaneous firming in targeted areas of the face. It's no wonder this substance is found in many skincare products.

Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance, allergic reactions are almost never seen. This makes it a very safe way to plump and correct your chin or other facial areas. A second advantage of this substance is that it's gentle and breaks down gradually. This results in a very natural and non-permanent result.

If you're satisfied with the results, a simple repeat treatment after about 8-12 months is sufficient. And of course, you're free to make adjustments during your next treatment to achieve an even better result. This is an option, for example, if you've had other treatments in the meantime that you can use to tailor your next chin correction with fillers.

Who is a chin correction with fillers suitable for?

A chin correction with fillers is mainly intended for people who consider their chin too small., short, receding or too flat, as this procedure adds volume to this area. This may be something you've been struggling with since childhood or may have developed as you get older. As we get older, the volume in our chin gradually decreases. A chin correction with injectables is a nice and relatively simple solution for this.

Chin correction with fillers: results

Although chin filler treatment is much less intensive than surgery, it can achieve excellent results. The most important result is more balanced facial features and, of course, greater satisfaction with your face.

A selection of the possibilities for a chin correction using fillers:

  • creating or filling a dent
  • correct a receding or flattened chin
  • sharper contours and jawline
  • improving the chin shape
  • more balance and symmetry in the entire face

The results of a chin correction with fillers are immediately visible and last up to a year on average. Afterward, you're welcome to return to our clinic for a follow-up treatment. This way, you can maintain the chin that's perfect for you, year after year.

How does a chin correction work?

Before we begin the chin correction and filler injections, we'll have an intake consultation. During this consultation, we'll create a personalized treatment plan to ensure the best possible result, translating your needs into the best possible outcome. This includes determining how much filler is needed and where it will be injected. You'll have ample opportunity to ask questions and share your thoughts, both during this initial consultation and throughout the treatment itself.

The treatment itself takes less than 15 minutes. The cosmetic practitioner will first discuss the specifics of the procedure and then prepare the area to be treated. Using a thin needle, the fillers are carefully injected into the predetermined areas. The results are immediately visible, and you can continue with your day right after the treatment.

After the treatment: do's and don'ts

For optimal results, there are a few things to keep in mind after the treatment. We recommend avoiding makeup for the first few hours. Avoid heat, such as saunas, tanning beds, and direct sunlight, for the first week. You should also avoid (intensive) exercise for the first two days. Otherwise, you can do everything you normally do. We do recommend maintaining a healthy lifestyle, as this will help the results last longer. In other words: take good care of your body with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle, and avoid smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and other things that can damage your skin and health.

How safe is a chin correction with fillers and what are the possible risks involved?

Compared to surgery, a chin correction with fillers is a simpler and safer option. After surgery, you face a recovery period and a higher risk of complications, scarring, or side effects.

We enhance the safety of this procedure in several ways. First, both the procedure and the intake are performed by an experienced practitioner. During the chin correction, the practitioner works carefully and uses sterile, high-quality materials.

The chin fillers we use are made from natural and safe ingredients that have been extensively researched. As a result, we see virtually no adverse reactions in practice. However, in rare cases, an allergic reaction does occur. The main symptoms are (unusual) swelling and redness. If this applies to you, please contact us immediately. contact Please contact our clinic. Slight bruising or bruising may occur, at least at the site where the thin needle entered the skin.
