The difference between fillers and botulinum toxin is that fillers add volume, while botulinum toxin reduces muscle contraction. Fillers can, for example, plump up the cheeks or lips. Botulinum toxin can reduce the lines that form when frowning, for example.
FAQ
Can botulinum toxin or filler treatments be used during pregnancy?
It is not possible to undergo a Botox or filler treatment during pregnancy or if you are breastfeeding.
When will I see the final result of the treatment?
The final result of both a Botox and filler treatment is clearly visible after approximately 14 days.
How many ml of filler do I need?
This depends on the desired result and the available options. We invite you for a free consultation to discuss this with one of our practitioners.
What is a zone botulinum toxin treatment?
A zone refers to a muscle group. For example, a forehead wrinkle is a muscle group, a frown line is a muscle group, and crow's feet are a muscle group. If you want to have one of these muscle groups treated, you book "1 zone." For example, if you want to treat multiple muscle groups, you book multiple zones and benefit from the volume discount.
How much does a treatment cost?
We would like to refer you to the rates page.
How long does botulinum toxin or fillers work and do the results remain visible?
Botox doesn't have a permanent effect and will wear off after an average of 3-4 months. With regular Botox treatments, the active ingredient can remain active longer, allowing you to enjoy the results longer. A filler treatment depends heavily on the treated area but remains visible for an average of 6 months.
Is a botulinum toxin or filler treatment painful?
Our fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing agent. This makes the vast majority of treatments very manageable. For more sensitive areas, such as the lips, an additional numbing cream can be used. The Botox treatment does not require anesthesia and is not considered particularly painful; it involves small, short injections.
Can side effects occur after a botulinum toxin or filler treatment?
After treatment, slight swelling, redness, or light bruising may occur. Naturally, care is taken during the treatment and every effort is made to minimize these side effects.
How long does a botulinum toxin or filler treatment take?
The duration of a treatment depends on the size and number of areas to be treated. An estimate of the treatment time can be made during a consultation and prior to the treatment.
Can I go in the sun with botulinum toxin and fillers?
During the first week after your treatment, it's important to avoid the sun as much as possible. This also applies to saunas and tanning beds. It's recommended to always apply sunscreen with a high SPF. Heat can cause the body to break down the product more quickly.
Can I have a facial after my botulinum toxin or filler treatment?
We advise against doing this immediately after the treatment. After 14 days, the product will have settled, and facial treatments may be performed.
Can I wear makeup after the treatment?
We advise against wearing makeup for the first 24 hours after treatment.
What is the minimum age for a botulinum toxin or filler treatment?
You are legally required to be at least 18 years old to undergo treatment with us. Therefore, we screen everyone beforehand for their treatment. It is also wise to bring your ID or passport.
When should I not undergo botulinum toxin or filler treatment?
This is not permitted during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Sometimes it's not possible if you have a permanent filler placed in the past. It's also not permitted in combination with certain medications or if you have a specific muscle disease. Before the treatment, we ask you to complete a medical questionnaire so the practitioner can assess whether it's safe for you to undergo the treatment.
Is treatment with botulinum toxin and/or fillers safe?
The products we use comply with European guidelines. They have been extensively tested, and we know they are safe for the body when used correctly. Our practitioners are trained in the use of these products and will do everything possible to ensure the treatment is safe.
Do you also use permanent fillers?
No, we only work with non-permanent fillers that are naturally broken down by the body.
Which brands do you use for the treatments?
We work exclusively with premium brands. For Botox treatments, we use Azzalure. For filler treatments, we use Stylage and Teosyal. For skin care, we use Restylane and Profhilo.
Who carries out the treatment?
The treatment is performed by a BIG-registered physician or skin therapist. You can meet our practitioners on the team page.
Is a chemical peel sensitive?
The treatment is generally well-tolerated. The sensation of a chemical peel is described as tingling, itching, burning, and warm. A fan is used during the treatment to minimize discomfort.
Is microneedling/mesotherapy painful?
The treatment feels like small pricks in the skin and is not painful. The skin can be numbed with a cream if necessary, so you'll feel virtually nothing.
